Cock-a-doodle-do: Rooster on the loose

A caller reported a rogue rooster to the Kalispell Police Department. An officer observed a rooster and a hen, but the rooster wouldn’t let him get closer than 10 or 15 feet. A live trap was set in the hope of catching the bird.

A man reported losing his wallet, which contained $520 and several important cards, including his Social Security card and Montana driver’s license. An officer spoke to the man and he thought he may have lost it at the bank. He was told to obtain a credit check and security program to protect his identity.

Several people called about a man in a wheelchair who was in the middle of the road and was asking for a ride. One caller believed he was intoxicated and could get hit while on the street. She attempted to give him a ride to Bigfork but the wheelchair didn’t fit in her car.

A caller reported someone tried to get into a residence. The window screens were damaged and there were fingerprints on the windows. The caller said it had been an ongoing issue the last few weeks while getting the tenants and their friends removed. An officer searched the residence and determined there was no one inside. The officer also advised the caller on basic security measures.

A caller reported a “junkie” bus parked near their residence. It is an eyesore and the person wanted it moved because it is blocking the view of the mountains.

A father called and reported his son had just punched him in the head. He said he didn’t an ambulance. Officers caught up with the son and took him to his grandmother’s house.

A person called about a man sitting in his pickup truck across from a home. The caller said the man had been sitting there for the last five or six hours and there was loud music being played. When an officer spoke with the suspicious person, he said he was simply listening to music and having a good time. He then headed home.

A woman tried to steal several items from an area store, but store security and police thwarted the attempt. She apparently had the items, which included clothing, makeup, air rafts and Legos, in a cooler. She was arrested and will not be allowed in the store for a year.

An officer responded to a panhandling complaint at an area store and cited the man after explaining the ordinance to him.
