Dog takes matters into his own paws

A dog indicated its displeasure at being in a pickup truck after it honked the horn for a few minutes, according to a caller. A Kalispell Police officer determind the dog was not in distress.

A person called to report a possible water line break. It turned out to be a broken sprinkler head.

A food vendor who was working at a local event returned to his location and found his power cord cut.

Someone reported that a person riding a bike had hit a duck. The caller said the man was laughing about it. An officer spoke with a suspect, who denied it. The duck couldn’t be found.

A man reported being assaulted after another man came to where he worked and put him in a headlock.

A woman reported her car was keyed while it was parked at an area business. An officer checked but there was no security footage of the incident.

A woman called about her daughter-in-law who was in the hospital to have a baby. After that, she will be taken back to jail since she is an inmate. The caller wanted to know how to get custody of the child so it doesn’t go to a drug user.

The Fourth of July may have been over with for a week, but a caller reported fireworks being shot off for more than an hour the other night. The person said it had been going on for the last two weeks.

A person reported five teenagers loitering in the area of two restaurants all night who were reportedly smoking marijuana. Another person was going to call because the kids had threatened to beat up a store employee.

A man mistakenly dialed 911 when he tried to call the hotel’s front desk because his TV wasn’t working.

A caller went to investigate when he saw a car parked in the neighborhood with its dome light on. He found a bald-headed, bearded man with tattoos and a female passenger with a white tank top and glasses, who were both asleep. The man reportedly had tin foil in his lap. When he woke the man up, he freaked out, screamed and drove away, sideswiping a parked car. An officer didn’t find any damaged vehicles in the area.

A man reported he left an iPad on a table outside a shop at the mall and when he returned, it was gone.

Someone called the Whitefish Police Department to report a possible drunk driver. The caller said the person was driving a white Toyota Tundra with a blacked-out tail light.

A call about a possible dognapping turned out to be unfounded after a woman returned home and found her dog with a cut paw and limping. She believed a neighbor may have taken the dog out of her apartment before returning it.

Believe it or not, an Apple watch was responsible for another accidental 911 call.

A man called the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office about getting his vehicle back from a pawn shop. He said it broke down and he had a relative tow it to the pawn shop. The vehicle ended up behind a locked gate at the shop and the man wanted law enforcement there to witness that the vehicle was his and he wanted it.

A caller reported that someone spray painted a profanity on a guard rail on Foothill Road.

A man called to report another person may have ingested acid. He was conscious and breathing normally, but he continued to try and bite the caller.

A woman called to request extra patrol after she kicked her son off the property. She said he had been telling people they could go there and take furniture.
