Laura 'Lauri' Ann Stevens, 52

| July 18, 2018 4:00 AM

Laura “Lauri” Ann Stevens, 52, passed early morning Thursday, July 12, 2018, in her home in Lakeside after a long fight with cancer.

Laura was born Sept. 27, 1965, to Clayton and Janet Green in Duluth, Minnesota. Clayton’s career in the Air Force brought Laura to Montana. When she wasn’t out and about, she was helping to care for her brothers and working toward her education.

Graduating from Charles M. Russell High School in Great Falls was only the beginning for Laura. She went on to pursue a degree in nursing at Northern Montana College and graduated in 1986 with her bachelor’s. She shared her love for nursing and cared for many people throughout 22 years at Kalispell Regional Medical Center and for another six years at Immanuel Lutheran Home, including their expansion, The Retreat.

On Jan. 26, 1990, Laura said “I do” to Michael Stevens. Four years later, they added a third member to their family, their daughter Rachel.

Laura was preceded in death by her father Clayton, and her step-brother Eric.

She is survived by her husband, Michael; daughter, Rachel; mother, Janet; stepmother, Margaret; brothers, Jesse and Matthew; and stepbrother, Ty.

A memorial service will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 22, at the Vista Linda, 240 Boon Road, Somers, MT 59932. Beverages, including beer and wine, and snacks will be provided.

Buffalo Hill Funeral Home is taking care of the family.
