Fern Alma Metcalf, 97

In loving memory of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, Fern Alma Metcalf.

Fern Metcalf passed away July 19, 2018. We were blessed to have her with us for 97 years. Fern was born May 12, 1921, in Danvers, Montana, to Fred and Alma Broeder. She was the youngest of four children. Her family moved to the Flathead Valley in 1935.

In 1941, Fern married the love of her life, Byron (Tim) Metcalf, and they raised their three children in Kalispell. Tim and Fern celebrated 58 years of marriage until death separated them in 1999. Fern was blessed to be a homemaker and she enjoyed bowling, playing cards, traveling, caring for her family and telling stories.

A graveside service will be held in her memory at noon on July 28 at C.E. Conrad Memorial Cemetery. The service will be informal and we welcome all who knew our beloved.
