Lakers hold annual meeting July 25
The Flathead Lakers will celebrate their 60 anniversary at their annual meeting held at the Flathead Lake Biological Station July 25.
The Lakers invite the public to attend the meeting where they will present their 2018 Stewardship Award to the bio station and bio station Director Jim Elser will present the annual State of the Lake report.
Rich Moy, a U.S. representative on the International Joint Commission and former chair of the Flathead Basin Commission, will give a presentation on the history of the commission and future water quality challenges for Flathead Lake and its watershed.
The Flathead Lakers, a nonprofit organization founded in 1958, works to keep the lake clean, its ecosystems healthy and the quality of life sustainable in the Flathead Watershed.
The program begins at 7 p.m. with a social hour before starting at 6:15 p.m. with complimentary hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar.
Prior to the social hour, Cathy Cooney and Nick Dietzen will lead a conversation on “Creating a Clean Water Legacy” at 5:45 p.m.
