HAMILTON — Coby Clark-Dickenson was superb on the mound, tossing a 3-hit complete game shutout as the Glacier Twins spilled the Bitterroot Red Sox 4-0 in a matchup of the top two seeds on Saturday at the West A District Tournament.

The victory sends the top-seed Twins (33-15) to today’s American League championship baseball game at 1 p.m. They will meet the winner of today’s 10 a.m. loser-out game.

The top two teams advance to the state tournament in Miles City, Aug. 1-5.

Clark-Dickenson went seven innings, striking out six and walking just one batter.

“The stats don’t show how dominating he was,” Twins coach Scott Murray said.

“He didn’t have a lot of strikeouts, but his off- speed stuff was fantastic. He was really sharp with his fastball. The Red Sox are a top quality team, so yes (this was one of his best performances).”

Clark-Dickenson also enjoyed a strong outing at the plate, going 2 for 3, as did Tom Hellwig.

Dan Seymour homered in the fourth inning with two runners on, giving the Twins a 3-0 lead.

“He was down 0-2 on the count, but just kept fighting off the bad pitches until he could find one he could hit,” Murray said.

That home-run pitch cleared the fence in dead- center field.

The Twins had eight hits, four went for extra bases.

Hellwig, Quintin Schriver and Ryan Veneman all had doubles.

Schriver also drove in a run.

Hellwig scored twice.

Forrest Kobelt, a lefty, will be on the mound for the Twins today.
