Report of gun on campus unfounded

Two Glacier High School students’ report to a staff member alleging someone had brought a gun on campus proved to be unfounded, however, a student was given a “trespass notification” not to return to the school Monday following an investigation by Kalispell Police Department school resource officers Chad Fetveit and Cory Clarke. Clarke said the students making the report had heard the information secondhand.

Following the incident, Glacier High School Assistant Principal Micah Hill sent an email out to parents apprising them of the situation.

“To our knowledge, there was never a gun on campus, only a rumor; however, we are going to always err on the side of caution and safety and pursue any and all action to ensure that our campus is safe. The person who was on our campus was a student in School District 5 is being given a trespass notification and will not be allowed to be on our campus,” Hill wrote in the email.

According to a Kalispell Police report, a bout of road rage ended in a heated confrontation when a woman reportedly cut off a man driving a PT Cruiser who then allegedly followed the woman and cut her off in an alley. The woman reportedly got out of her vehicle, approached the driver of the Cruiser and yelled at him before returning to her own vehicle. The man then reportedly exited his Cruiser and threw a cup of water at the driver side door and window, getting the woman wet. Police advised the woman against approaching other drivers and engaging in road rage altercations.

A man reported his bike stolen from a bar. Officers arrived on scene and spoke with the bar’s staff, who claimed the man was highly intoxicated. The staff believed the man had walked to the bar. The man decided to walk home.

Police issued a warning to a woman for obstructing law enforcement after she reportedly had to be detained in handcuffs while her partner was being arrested. According to the report, officers pulled the couple over and proceeded to conduct a field sobriety test on the male driver. The woman allegedly harassed the officers repeatedly about getting her personal items from the car but then proceeded to interfere with the DUI investigation and her partner’s arrest. Officers finally handcuffed the woman until her personal items were taken from the car and in her possession.

A witness reported hearing a vehicle crash near his house and allegedly found a downed light pole upon further investigation. The witness believed someone crashed into the pole, but found no sign of the vehicle in question. All he found, he said, was a trail of antifreeze down the street.

A building was reportedly broken into for the second time in 10 days, according to the reporting party. The man reportedly found the front glass door shattered after someone allegedly threw a rock through it. Officers found no one inside the building.

Someone reportedly found a cage full of bunnies abandoned under a tree.

A 2-year-old reportedly woke up from his nap and decided to go for a stroll, allegedly opening the front door without his parents hearing. The child’s parents reported the toddler missing before finding him several blocks from the house around 20 minutes later.

A man reported a woman for attempting to break into his vehicle, which was parked in a parking lot outside a store. The man stated the woman did not gain entry and nothing was missing. Video footage from the store revealed that the woman had walked across the parking lot and was not paying attention when she tried the handles on the man’s vehicle thinking it was hers and did not actually attempt to break in.
