Avory Escobar of Eureka has been named to the Class B-C All-State and All-Western Division first team for softball in balloting by league coaches.

Escobar, a sophomore, was the Lions top pitcher this spring. She hit in the No. 3 spot in the batting order all season long and had a batting average of .518.

She led Eureka in home runs with five and in extra-base hits with 17 and was second on the team in RBIs with 32.
