Kitty held captive in dispute

According to Flathead County Sheriff’s Office logs, a man claimed that a woman stole his cat and was demanding a $150 ramsom. He said he was going to speak with her to see if it could be worked out.

Someone called to report a neighbor who was burning stuff on a daily basis and the smoke had been getting into the house. The person asked that deputies talk to the neighbor and tell him what he can and can not burn.

A woman called to report about half a dozen people brawling in a pavilion near a picnic area. When an officer arrived the fight was apparently over, but there was one man lying on the ground. He refused medical attention and remained in the pavilion after everyone was told to leave the park.

A woman called to report a man weedwacking on her property in Columbia Falls. She showed an officer a video of her neighbor mowing a grassy area near a cul-de-sac. She also provided a map of the property. The officer advised her that it was a civil issue and that she should gain a better understanding of her property boundary.

Someone called to report a reckless driver who was yelling at other motorists and cutting them off. He was driving a silver pickup with a rusty brush guard.

A fawn was stuck in the mud near Ezy Drive in Kalispell. The caller didn’t see the mother deer and took the fawn to the vet to “warm it up.” The fawn did come around and it was taken to where it was found after being advised by a person with Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks. The fawn walked out to a field and bedded down.

A person called the Columbia Falls Police Department to report a white van that had repeatedly circled the neighborhood. It turned to be an older man who was looking for a rental property.

Someone called to report a feral cat with an infected eye attacking the person’s cat.

A caller reported flickering outside lights that he was concerned could short circuit and cause a fire. The flickering bulb was removed and discarded.
