Child caught in a tight squeeze

According to the Whitefish Police Department call logs, a second-grade student’s head was stuck in a railing. An officer was on the way to help when the child was freed.

A caller claimed someone stole his 14-year-old daughter’s clothes from a dryer.

Two people called to complain about three men who were sitting on the bike path near Railway Street eating breakfast.

A business owner called the Kalispell Police Department to report two teenagers making out inside a vehicle. The person asked that someone counsel the teens or contact their parents.

An officer who made a pedestrian stop in the early morning hours may have uncovered a large-scale charcoal theft. According to the officer, the man was heavily intoxicated and had a shopping cart that held seven bags of briquets. The man wasn’t sure if he had paid for the charcoal.

A man bought an alcoholic beverage and shared it with a woman under 21, according to a caller.

A person called the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office to report people cutting down trees and dropping them on to Antelope Trail in the Whitefish area. The person felt the tree cutters were operating unsafely. When a deputy checked the scene, the workers said they would be done soon and everything was fine.

Someone called to report that her cocker spaniel/Jack Russell terrier mix had been attacked in its yard by a large, white pit bull in the Columbia Falls area. The pit bull also apparently bit the dog’s owner during the incident. The dog was treated for cuts to its neck. The pit bull wasn’t found, but the woman said she would keep a lookout for the animal.

A person called to report a domestic disturbance in Martin City where two young children were present. The caller said the man was breaking up the house and that he carried a gun. The man was later taken into custody for violating a protection order.

A woman called to report being stalked in the Evergreen area.
