Citizen concerned for canned cat
A resident of Mountain Drive requested help from Flathead County Sheriff’s deputies after finding a kitten with its head stuck in an aluminum can. The reporting party said they were afraid the cat would hurt itself trying to get out of the can so close to the road but figured it was a matter for the authorities to handle.
A resident was concerned about a mail truck making deliveries. Dispatchers reassured the reporting party that it was not an emergency, that UPS had begun making deliveries on Sunday and not to be alarmed.
Two allegedly intoxicated men were seen driving on Montana 35. The passenger was seen leaning out the window and yelling, and the driver reportedly backed into a gas tank.
A woman called the Whitefish Police Department to ask about getting a puppy from a man she was dating. He is currently in jail and the puppy is with the man’s sister at a residence in Marion.
A possibly intoxicated man was kicked out of an establishment after trying to pick fights with a number of people. The man tried to get into another fight before getting into a white utility van and took off “like a crazy person” south on Baker Avenue.
The owner of a building came to the Kalispell Police Department to report a theft. He explained that the people came there to collect items from someone who had died, but while there, also took things that belong to him. The person said the people have refused to return the items that are his. An officer was going to investigate the matter further.
A person called to report witnessing a possible drug deal. He saw a man get out of a black Jeep and get into a white van. He also saw a black Firebird and people exchanging things. When an officer responded to the scene, the complaint turned out to be unfounded and the people were asked to move on.
A man called to report someone had left a dog in his yard. The animal didn’t belong to him and he was concerned about letting his dog out while the “strange” dog was there. An officer took the dog to the county animal shelter.
A mother called to report that she believes adults will be providing alcohol and marijuana to underage kids at an upcoming graduation party.
Someone called to report a female transient with a white dog who was sleeping on the front steps the last two nights. The person was unable to walk through the front door without stepping on her.
A man said someone used his credit card number to buy $58 worth of pizza in West Virginia. He said he had canceled his card and the business was going to attempt to refund his money.
