Dulane Theodore Aaberg, 59

Dr. Dulane Theodore Aaberg, 59, passed away on Oct. 6, 2017, after a short illness.

Dulane was born June 14, 1958, to Orville and Marcia (Mansfield) Aaberg. He graduated from Columbia Falls High School in 1976. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Idaho, the Lionel Hampton School of Music and the University of Iowa. Dulane taught in public schools in Coeur d’Alene and Sandpoint, Idaho, and Bigfork for eight years, then returned to the University of Iowa for graduate studies. Dulane taught at Texas A&M Corpus Christi, Del Mar College and Hays Texas Consolidated Independent School District. As a bassoonist, Dulane performed several seasons with the Corpus Christi and Victoria symphony orchestras. During that time, he was a founding member of the Camerata Del Sol, a chamber ensemble that eventually performed at an international double reed conference in Birmingham, England, in 2009.

Dulane is survived by one brother, Rick (Tina) Aaberg; one sister, Alicia (Don) McDonald; sister-in-law, Beth; as well as three nephews and one niece. He is greatly missed by family, friends and former students.

He was preceded in death by one brother Darryl Aaberg, and his parents.

A remembrance of his life is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, June 23, at the community room at 121 Second Ave. W., Kalispell, with burial to follow at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Columbia Falls.
