GOLF Avery 2nd, Mercer 4th in Junior State Championship
Tyler Avery of Kalispell finished second in the 13-and-Under age division at the Montana State Golf Association Junior State Championship on Tuesday at Polson Bay Golf Course.
Avery tied for low round in his division on the final day with a 72 for a 147 total for 36 holes.
Avery shot 75 on Monday.
Cameron Hackmann of Laurel also carded a 72 for the final 18 to finish first with a 143 score.
In girls play, Marcella Mercer of Bigfork was fourth in the 14-15 age division with a 175 mark. She opened with an 89 and closed with an 86.
