Legion Baseball Glacier Twins A rip Yakima Beetles in Ed Gallo opener

WHITEFISH — The Glacier Twins A opened the Ed Gallo Memorial Wood Bat Tournament by blasting the Yakima Beetles 15-2 on Thursday evening at Memorial Field.
The Twins did all of their scoring in the final four innings, ending the American Legion baseball game with a seven-run sixth inning.
The Twins banged out 17 hits, led by Ryan Veneman, 3 for 6, and Terek Bistodeau, 3 for 4.
Tom Hellwig, Coby Clark-Dickenson and Jack Schwaiger had two hits each for the victors.
Veneman and Clark-Dickenson both smacked doubles. Veneman and Schwaiger had three RBIs each. Hellwig and Clark-Dickenson were next with two each.
Forrest Kobelt and Bistodeau combined on a 2-hitter. Kobelt went the first four innings, allowing two hits, walking five batters and striking out three.
Bistodeau went the final two on the mound.
Glacier played the Calgary PBF Redbirds in a late game on Thursday.

HELENA — The Helena Senators AA swept the Kalispell Lakers in doubleheader play, winning both games in the bottom of the seventh inning, on Wednesday at Kindrick Legion Field.
Helena’s Connor McCarvel singled down the left-field line to bring in the game-winner in the opener.
The Senators (16-15, 4-5) scored three runs in their final at-bat to win the second game. The doubleheader was originally set for Tuesday, but was rained out.
Helena split with the Lakers on May 12 in Kalispell, winning 5-2 and losing 11-1.
The Lakers (19-10, 4-4) have lost four straight. Prior to that, the Lakers were riding a 10-game win streak.
Kalispell has a league doubleheader on Saturday at Lethbridge and a single game at Lethbridge on Sunday.
