Calgary upends Glacier in Ed Gallo Tournament
WHITEFISH — The Calgary PBF Redbirds scored in every inning and posted 13 hits for an 11-5 victory over the Glacier Twins A late Thursday evening in the final game on opening day of the Ed Gallo Memorial Wood Bat Tournament at Memorial Field.
Calgary had two-run innings in the second, third and fourth and tallied three runs in the sixth.
The Redbirds scored once in the first and fifth innings.
Glacier managed to score in every inning but the sixth, but was limited to one run per inning and six hits.
Tom Hellwig, 2 for 4, drove in two runs for the Twins.
Hellwig, double, and Ryan Veneman, triple, had Glacier’s two extra-base hits.
Glacier beat the Yakima Beetles 15-2 earlier Thursday. The Twins next tournament outing is tonight at 8 versus the Olympia Raptors.
The American Legion baseball tournament ends Sunday with championship play.

BOZEMAN — The Kalispell Lakers A split action on the first day of play at the Howard Rein Tournament on Friday.
Idaho Falls used a four run sixth inning to pull away for a 5-0 win over Kalispell in the first game.
Kalispell followed that setback by blowing out Wyoming 15-5.
Thursday’s tournament action was washed out.
Idaho Falls pitcher Bridger Talamotez tossed a no-hitter against the Lakers. He struck out four batters and did not issue a walk.
That game was scoreless for the first three innings.
The Lakers finished the day on a positive note by ripping 12 hits against Wyoming. Payton Davisson led the attack, going 3 for 5 and scoring twice. Davisson homered and drove in six runs.
Luke Halland, Connor Drish and Chad Queen had two hits each for Kalispell.
Wes Palmer, Thomas O’Connell and JD Van Kempen doubled for the Lakers.
Ben Corriveau and Queen both scored three times.
The Lakers continue with tournament play today, facing Bozeman at 4:30 p.m. and Livingston at 7.
