The project is located approximately 25 miles southeast of Hungry Horse, MT on the east side of Hungry Horse Reservoir. The purpose and need for this project is to: maintain or improve the diversity and health of forest vegetative communities; maintain or improve timber productivity on suitable lands and provide a variety of wood products to the local economy; manage wildlife habitat and improve wildlife security; improve fish passage; maintain and improve recreational values and safety of visitors; create and improve scenic views of the surrounding landscape. Project documentation is also available for review at Flathead National Forest Supervisors Office at 650 Wolfpack Way, Kalispell, MT. The proposed project is an activity implementing a land management plan and not authorized under the HFRA and is subject to 36 CFR 218 Subparts A and B.
