Bat slinks away, this time

A woman in the Marion area awoke to a bat in her bedroom. She told the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office that she was not able to find the bat and believed it was still in her home. She was advised to contact a pest control company and then animal control if it was found.

A person called to report a vehicle stopped on Cemetery Road with its flashers on. They were removing a turtle from the road.

Someone called to report a stolen golf cart from Stoner Creek Road in Lakeside. It was described as having a maroon body and white top with a black utility box on the back. It is a gas-powered Yamaha G9.

A person reported seeing two horses walking on Edgewood Drive in Whitefish near Haskill Basin Road. A car “bumped’ one of the horses and it ran off.

A person called to report a stolen 1994 Ford F-150 and to identify a possible suspect. The truck was later found at a gas station in Whitefish.

Someone called with concerns about three dogs — a boxer, beagle and an old golden retriever — wandering free on Southside Drive and getting too close to traffic. An officer found that the animals belonged to people who were setting up a fireworks stand. They said they’d get them confined.

A parent of four children called with questions about possibly buying a home near where a sex offender lived. She said she found the man on the county’s sex offender website.

A man who was collecting aluminum cans and cleaning up trash was reported as being a dumpster diver by a caller, whose boss told him to run the guy off. He wasn’t comfortable doing that and wanted a deputy to do it.

A person called to report a man had called their business and threatened him and his wife. He said “it was his valley and they had no business trying to start up a similar business. The caller just wanted the incident documented in case things escalated.

A person called the Kalispell Police Department about a trio of free-roaming boxers, including one that was allegedly very aggressive. The person was concerned that the aggressive dog might bite someone. The person thought the dogs belonged to a neighbor, but wasn’t sure. A few minutes later, an officer was told by a passerby the dogs were reunited with their owners and are confined to quarters.
