Twins A 3rd at Ed Gallo Tournament; Lakers A 4th at Rein
WHITEFISH — Coby Clark-Dickenson and Donnie Sims combined on a 2-hitter, Terek Bistodeau and Matt Morrison both had four RBIs as the Glacier Twins A spanked the Olympia Raptors 18-2 Sunday morning in the final pool play contest of the Ed Gallo Memorial Wood Bat Tournament at Memorial Field.
Glacier opened with a 12-run first inning, did all of its scoring in the first three inning and cranked out 17 hits.
Ryan Veneman and Bistodeau were both 3 for 4.
Tom Hellwig, 1 for 3, scored four times.
Bistodeau, double, and Morrison, triple, had the team’s extra base hits.
Clark-Dickenson pitched the first two innings. He struck out four.
Sims went the final three, allowing two hits and fanning four batters.
Clark-Dickenson and Sims did not walk a batter.
This American Legion baseball tournament game was originally scheduled for 8 p.m. on Saturday, but was rained out and rescheduled.
That win put the Twins A in the third/fourth place matchup with the Glacier Twins B later in the day Sunday. The A team prevailed 7-2. No box score or highlights were available from that contest.
The Twins A host the Libby Loggers A on Tuesday for a league doubleheader beginning at 5 p.m.

BOZEMAN — The Kalispell Lakers A rallied late, but fell a run short on Sunday, losing to the Missoula Mavs A 4-3 in the third/fourth place game at the Howard Rein Tournament.
Missoula led 3-0 after two innings and 4-0 after five. Kalispell scored three runs in the top of the sixth, but never inched any closer.
The Lakers finished American Legion baseball tournament action with a 2-3 mark. Overall, the Lakers are 17-15.
“We lost a couple of really close games,” Lakers A coach Jesse McFarland said.
“There was a lot of good competition out there.”
Reid Barrows tossed a 1-hitter, Ryan McDonald was perfect at the plate (3 for 3) and JD Van Kempen drove in three runs as the Lakers ripped Livingston’s Braves 14-1 in the final game of pool play late Saturday night.
Barrows went five innings. He struck out five and walked one batter.
Chad Queen, Nate Kelly and Payton Davisson all smacked doubles for the Lakers. Van Kempen tripled.
Kelly, Wes Palmer and Queen had two hits each.
Kalispell’s big inning was the fifth, scoring six runs.
Earlier in the day, the Bozeman Bucks A clipped the Lakers 8-2.
The Lakers play at the Missoula Mavs on Wednesday in league play with a doubleheader beginning at 5 p.m.
