WHITEFISH — Superb pitching, big-run innings and plenty of hits to go around carried the Glacier Twins A to an American Legion baseball doubleheader sweep of the Libby Loggers A on Tuesday evening at Memorial Field.

The Twins romped in both five-inning outings by the run rule, winning 15-0 and 12-0.

Glacier had 24 hits on the day.

Coby Clark-Dickenson and Forrest Kobelt combined on a 1-hitter in the opener.

Clark-Dickenson went the first 3 2/3 innings. He gave up a single to Quade Anderson in the first inning, walked one batter and struck out six.

Kobelt went the final 1 1/3 innings. He fanned three and walked one batter.

The Twins tallied six runs in the first and third innings and three in the second.

Ryan Veneman led the Twins attack, going 3 for 4 and driving in two runs from his leadoff spot.

Tom Hellwig, Terek Bistodeau and Trenton Tyree had two hits each.

Donnie Simms and Caleb Meehan both had two RBIs.

Bistodeau scored three times.

Glacier stranded eight runners to Libby’s three.

In the second game, Nathan Hader picked up the win. He pitched 3 2/3 innings, allowed one hit — a double by Daymond Baney in the second inning — struck out six and did not walk a batter.

Simms singled three times in three at-bats, scored once and drove in a run.

Hellwig and Matt Morrison had two hits each.

Morrison doubled for Glacier’s only extra-base hit on the night.

Clark-Dickenson drove in two runs.

Glacier put this game out of reach with a 10-run second inning.

Glacier’s next action is the Keith Sell Tournament in Helena, which begins Thursday and runs through Sunday.

Libby has a doubleheader at the Bitterroot Red Sox on Saturday.
