Warren Kirkhart Taylor, 96, Warren was born in Boyd, Montana, in 1922. Growing up he farmed and worked with teams of horses. He fought as a Marine in World War II between 1944 and 1946, fighting in famous battles at Ie Shime and Okinawa. He returned to Montana after the war and worked building grain elevators and cowboying.

He married Betty Weideman in 1949. In 1959, Warren took a job with Montana Fish and Game working at fish hatcheries throughout the state, managing at Arlee and Eureka. He planted fish in most of the streams and lakes in Montana. Warren and Betty had their daughter, Jody, in 1958, and son, Bret, in 1960.

After retiring from the Montana Fish and Game at age 64, Warren built a beautiful log home and he and Betty ran Trail’s End Bed and Breakfast. Warren was very involved in the Eureka community, participating in the Kiwanis Club, serving on the Interbel board, and attending a local church. He was known for his friendly ways.

Warren and Betty moved to Kalispell in 2001 where they enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing and spending time with their four grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. In August 2013, Warren and Betty moved into an assisted living facility, and a month later Betty passed away, at the age of 84. Warren remained in assisted living for two years and then came to live with Bret and Colleen where he resided for three years.

Warren passed away at the Bee Hive at the age of 96, on June 21, 2018. Throughout his life, he was known for his kindness and generosity, his storytelling and jokes, and his easygoing nature. Warren loved his family, was patient and hard working, and made friends easily. He was genuine, had great integrity and served the Lord faithfully.

Warren will be deeply missed by those who knew him. We are so thankful to have had him in our lives and will always fondly remember him.
