What do the foxes say?

A woman called the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office asking what to do about a family of foxes living under her shed.

A caller reported a car pulled over on the side of a road and covered with blankets. The person asked that someone check on it.

A reckless driver left behind more than he probably cared to after crashing through a ditch and into a man’s yard on Harbin Hill Road. The bumper and license plate from the vehicle was still in the yard.

A woman called to report being the possible victim of a $5,000 scam by an Ohio man she met on Facebook. She said the man told her he needed $40,000 to fix his equipment for work. She said she sent the money by UPS, but that the package hadn’t been delivered. She was advised to go to UPS immediately and try to stop the delivery.

A woman called to report the theft of a metal star, metal lantern and a ceramic jug that she was going to use on a float in the upcoming Fourth of July parade.

A caller reported a man that came to her residence to clean her windows ruined her carpet. She believes he is not an actual cleaner and committed a fraud.

A man in Hungry Horse called to report someone swapped his tires off his pickup in the last week or so.

A woman who lives in a rental on a farmer’s property called to say that he is stalking her and that it had been going on for years after the man’s wife went into a retirement home. She said he shines his headlights into her bedroom window and has started shooting a gun off every day.

A woman arrived home to find that it had been broken into according to a call to the Kalispell Police Department. She reported that a social security card and an old driver’s license were stolen.

A parent called about his 6-year-old acting aggressively toward his younger child. An officer answered his questions and referred him to the county department of child and family services.

A caller reported a man taking items from a thrift store. When an officer spoke with him, the man said he took some candles because he thought they’d help ward off mosquitoes. He agreed to return the candles.

Someone removed an unknown amount of cash from a donation box.

A man called to report his neighbor’s children jumping his fence and knocking on his windows. He believes they do this to wake him up after he goes to bed.

A woman called to report finding used needles in the room of a former roommate she had recently kicked out. An officer explained how to dispose of the needles.

A woman loading groceries into her car accidentally dialed 911 when one of the bags hit her watch.

A man thwarted an attempted robbery on 11th St. in Columbia Falls just past midnight Thursday. The man’s wife said she saw someone breaking into her vehicle and he ran outside, catching the young man in the act. Another person rode away on a bicycle. The juvenile was eventually turned over to his mother.

A woman called to ask about her 17-year-old son who was causing problems, not coming home at night and partying.

A caller reported having his home egged. Fortunately, there was no damage, but a cleanup was necessary.

Someone reported a rabbit that was dropped off in the neighborhood and was eating the flowers and other plants in the garden. The caller was given options on what to do with the critter.
