No. 25183 NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING OF INTENT TO AMEND SOLID WASTE SERVICE CHARGES FOR SCHOOLS The Board of Directors of the Flathead County Solid Waste Management District hereby gives notice that it will hold a public hearing to allow public comment on its intention to amend the method by which the charges for the Solid Waste refuse fee of schools are imposed. At present, schools are charged by the total enrollment plus the FTE divided by 50 times the current rate (80.73 per unit). There is a minimum fee of 1 unit for schools with fewer than 50 total students + employees. The district intends to charge schools based upon their actual waste generation. To calculate this annual fee the total yardage of waste produced per year is divided by 20 cy per unit, then multiplied by the current assessment rate of $80.73 per unit. The public hearing will be held on the 24th day of April, 2018 at 3 o'clock p.m., at the Office of the Flathead County Solid Waste District, 4098 Highway 93 North, Kalispell, Montana. At the public hearing, the Board of Directors will give members of the public an opportunity to be heard regarding its intention to amend the method by which the schools in Flathead County are assessed.
