Charlotte Audrey Osler, 81

| March 8, 2018 7:38 PM

Charlotte Audrey “Toots” Osler, of Missoula, “went home to be with her dear Lord Jesus Christ” on Sunday, March 4, 2018, at St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula, due to complications of influenza A.

She was born Nov. 11, 1936, in Great Falls to Harry and Lillian (Thompson) Roedel. Her fondest memories of childhood were growing up in Stryker.

She later married John L. Osler on Aug. 18, 1952, in Polson. They moved to Bass Lake in Eureka and later moved across from the Osler Brothers’ Lumber Mill. She was a great mother of two sons and a daughter. Later in 1977 she divorced and lived in Whitefish, Kalispell, Las Vegas, Victor, Montana, and Brookdale Assisted Living in Missoula. One of her favorite jobs was transporting firefighters for the U.S. Forest Service.

One of her greatest passions was playing the piano and organ. The Big Band era and boogie-woogies would light up her fingers at the Community Hall at Trego for dances. For 20-plus years she played for Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Eureka and Trego. She began her close relationship with the Lord and continued her Christian life unto death.

“She is now rejoicing with the Lord in heaven. Praise the Lord!”

A beloved and blessed one, she cared for her family, church, friends, and AA (Alcohol Anonymous) acquaintances throughout her life. Survivors include David and (Jeanne) Osler in Eureka; and Gay and (Ronald) Cook in Potomac. Grandchildren include Jason Osler in North Dakota, Tamara and (Wade) Bellon in Gillette, Wyoming, and Tavis and (Kelly) Osler in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Her great-grandchildren include Peyton and Kendall Bellon, and Adam Joel and Shaylee Osler.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and son Gary Osler.

In honor of Mom, we will announce a picnic this summer when everyone can be home. Condolences may be left at www.gardencityfh.com.
