Comment period extended for W. Glacier RV park
The Montana Department of Environmental Quality is extending the public comment period for an additional week on the draft environmental assessment for the proposed West Glacier RV Park’s associated water, wastewater and storm-water approvals.
The comment period will now end March 20. The proposed development is located west of West Glacier and south of the Middle Fork of the Flathead River. It is less than 1 mile from the west entrance to Glacier National Park.
Glacier Park Inc. has applied for subdivision approval specific to the public water supply system, public wastewater and collection disposal, storm water drainage collection and retention system and solid waste management for an RV park with cabins. The proposed infrastructure submitted to the state for review and approval has previously received preliminary plat approval from the Flathead County commissioners. The first phase proposes 25 cabins and 42 recreational vehicle spaces. Phase II proposes an additional 60 RV spaces. The RV and Cabin Village plans to install its own public water supply system, public wastewater collection and disposal system and an on-site storm water runoff collection system. Solid waste will be transported to the Flathead County landfill.
