Woman injured in Hungry Horse shooting
A woman was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound to her stomach following a shooting in Hungry Horse on Wednesday.
Deputies responding to the incident found a 57-year-old woman laying outside Mountain Drive with a gunshot wound to her abdomen just before noon on March 21, according to a press release. The woman was transported by helicopter to Kalispell Regional Medical Center and is listed to be in stable condition, Flathead County Sheriff Chuck Curry reported.
Deputies located James Erickson, 62, of Hungry Horse, inside a residence near the location where the shooting took place. Erickson was formally interviewed by detectives following the incident and placed into the Flathead County Detention Center on a charge of assault with a weapon.
Formal charges are pending as the incident remains under investigation. The Sheriff’s Office will release more information as it becomes available.
