No. 25244 Legal Notice The Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) has completed a five-year comprehensive bond review for a rock product quarry operated by Paramount Equipment Inc., (Paramount) under Operating Permit No. 00172. The rock product quarry is located about 5 miles northwest of Plains, MT in Sanders County. The current bond is set at $59,387. DEQ has determined that the current bond does not represent the present costs of complying with the Metal Mine Reclamation Act, administrative rules adopted under the Act, and the operating permit. DEQ is proposing to increase the bond to $67,470. The proposed increase is due, in part, to increased costs since the last bond calculation. DEQ is required to issue a final bond determination within 30 days. A copy of the bond calculations that form the basis for the proposed bond determination can be obtained by contacting the Department of Environmental Quality, Hard Rock Mining Bureau, P.O. Box 200901, 1520 E. Sixth Ave., Helena, MT 59620-0901, or by calling Herb Rolfes at (406) 444-3841 or e-mail at hrolfes@mt.gov. Comments must be received by April 24, 2018.
