A new office park is being developed at the site of the former Kalispell Athletic Club on Reserve Drive in Kalispell.

The property, east of Swank Enterprises, will consist of two different office buildings. One valued at $1.25 million will be 12,200 square feet, and the other will be 7,500 square feet and valued at $750,000.

Ron Nash, an architect with Whitefish-based Montana Creative Architecture + Design, said a dentist will have an office in one of the buildings along with a secondary tenant.

“His will be closer to the street and another building that will hold three additional tenants will be closer to Swank.”

Nash estimated the office park would be completed this summer.

The previous owner of the lot had applied for a zoning change from its current B-1 designation to a more flexible B-2 designation, said Erik Mack, a planner with the Flathead County Planning Department. The application was withdrawn when someone else purchased the property.

The new property owners had expressed they might be interested in the zone change at some point, as well. A change to B-2 zoning could open the area up to larger developments, including supermarkets or car dealerships, Mack said.

Another new building in Kalispell, going up at 219 E. Center Street, will house First American Title. This site is south of Super 1 Foods and north of Papa Murphy’s.

Tim Birk of Kalispell is the owner, according to a building permit issued by the city. The 6,730-square-foot project is valued at $600,000.
