Suspicious chew toy found in flower bed

A woman called the Kalispell Police Department because she was concerned that someone is trying to poison her dog after she said she found a Kong chew toy with what appears to be peanut butter in her flower bed. After speaking with her neighbors, the person still didn’t know where the toy came from, but she said her dog is acting fine and healthy. Police advised her to dispose of the toy as she saw fit and to call if anything else suspicious appears in her yard.

Someone called to report that a transient was sleeping inside one of the recycling containers. He said he needed the man to get out so he could empty it. Police officers arrived and got the man out.

A person called to report that two tires on a company vehicle were slashed. Police also reported that another area business had a similar incident occur.

Someone called to report a wayward cocker spaniel that has been urinating and defecating on people’s yards. The person was mainly concerned that the dog was not neutered. The owner of the animal told police the dog had only been out for three minutes and they didn’t let it run.

Someone called to report her Facebook account has been hacked and others are posting things in Arabic. She said she contacted Facebook and who told her the complaint wasn’t valid and that they didn’t believe her. She was advised by an officer to try and work things out with Facebook because it is not a criminal incident.

A transient who was camping out near the employee entrance door of an area business was subsequently removed from three area stores before police gave him contact information for the Salvation Army and other services if he wished to get sober.

A man called to report a baseball team bus was left in the parking lot of an area mall since Sunday. The bus belonged to the Bitterroot Bucs team from Florence.

A subdivision apparently upset a man at the City Hall. Someone called to report the upset man could be heard yelling, but he did calm down.

Someone called the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office to report a man for allegedly stalking the woman’s family on Facebook and making specific comments about her 6-year-old daughter. The man’s account says he is from Pakistan. He has been blocked, but continues to appear on a friend or family’s page and comments on pictures of the girl. Then, several other men, supposedly from Pakistan, attempted to “friend” her.

A very friendly German shepherd jumped into someone’s vehicle. The owner hasn’t been found and an officer was taking the animal to the shelter.

A person called the Columbia Falls Police Department to report she heard footsteps walking up to the bedroom door and the handle being jiggled. When she said “Who’s there? I’ve got a gun,” she heard them running down the hall. The woman said there have been prior problems with break-ins and a van was also stolen. When police responded, they secured the shop and living quarters, but there was no one around.
