John W. Byers, 68

Born Nov. 9, 1949, in Havre John “was accepted to the highway in the sky” on May 3, 2018.

John lived a life that most people could only dream of. He possessed an uncanny ability to master anything he put his mind too, but his true passion was operating heavy equipment.

John’s devoted wife Mona, and three sons Johnny, Michael and Dillon, were the pride of his life. Not a day went by when one of them wasn’t his favorite topic of conversation.

If it was fast or loud, it was for John. “He is running on a bottomless fuel tank now, and will be waiting patiently for the rest of us.”

John was preceded in the death by his father John E. Byers, and mother Shirley J. Parent.

He is survived by his spouse, Mona L. Byers (Shanahan); his children, John L. Byers, Michael (Lisa) Byers, Dillon Byers, and Nicole (Tal) Conner; granddaughter, Peighton L. Byers; siblings, Mike S. Byers, Terri (Howard) Garlinger, Gary (Karen) Byers, Tim (Teri) Byers, Debbie Furman, and Jeff Byers; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at noon on Saturday, May 12, at Dugan Dolan, 1805 Meadowlark Butte, MT 59701. A celebration of life will follow.
