Nancy Ann Miller, 68
Nancy Ann Miller, of Bigfork, died Saturday, May 5, 2018, in her home.
She was born Nov. 12, 1949, in Wallace, Idaho, to Jens and Zilpha Oswold.
Nancy earned her Certificate for Vocational Nursing from Modesto Junior College in September 1968. She served as a nurse in the U.S. Army and earned the National Defense Service Medal. While stationed at Fort Sam Houston, she married Ken Miller on Aug. 14, 1971.
After both were discharged from the Army, she and her family moved to Gustine, California, and eventually to Bigfork where they lived for for the past 36 years. She worked as a nurse until she suffered a debilitating injury at work, at which time she became a stay-at-home mom to her two sons, Dwight and Scott.
She enjoyed woodworking, (a hobby that she picked up from her father), sewing, and other crafts (passions that she inherited from her mother).
Nancy is survived by her husband, Ken Miller; son Dwight Miller and wife Kristyn of Parker, Colorado; son Scott Miller and wife Cheri of Portland; nephew Mason Oswold and wife Amanda of Bigfork; granddaughter Abigail Miller; and grandson Blake Miller.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jens and Zilpha Oswold, her brother Burton Oswold and his wife Cindy; and two nephews, Brandon and Grant.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. and services will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 10, at Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home in Kalispell, with military honors.
The family suggests, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice at Kalispell Regional Healthcare, 310 Sunnyview Lane, Kalispell, MT 59901.
