LIBBY — The Libby Loggers out-hit the Missoula Pioneers 6-3, but six Logger errors doomed the hosts in a 4-1 defeat in an American Legion baseball clash at the Loggertown Wood Bat Classic on Friday.

The Pioneers scored a run in the first, second, third and fifth innings. Libby’s lone run crossed in the sixth.

Tim Carvey was the hard-luck loser after pitching five innings of three-hit ball for the Loggers. He allowed all four Pioneer runs, but none were earned.

Jeff Offenbecher took the mound for the final two frames and did not allow a hit, nor a run.

Trey Thompson led the Loggers offensively with two hits and an RBI.

Tournament play continues today and ends Sunday.
