Marcy Deets, 87

Marcy was born May 26, 1930, in Ohio. Her family moved to Hamilton, Ontario, for some 12 years and then moved to Claremont, California. She graduated from Claremont High School.

Marcy enrolled at Mills College, a high academic girls’ school in Oakland, California. At an open house she met Walter Deets and they were married in September 1950. They were married 67 years.

Shortly after her four children were in school, she enrolled at University of California Davis where, three years later, she became a registered nurse. In 25 some years she delivered a thousand babies into the arms of loving mothers. She was an early days ALERT flight nurse.

Upon retirement she was a quilter, specializing in baby quilts.

Marcy passed away at age 87 in December 2017, and will rest in Fairview Cemetery near home for eternity with her loving husband Walter.

She was loved by a husband, four children, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
