Hawaiian dancers to perform at FVCC

The Flathead Valley’s Hula school Halau Ka Waikahe Lani Malie will perform their annual show at the Flathead Valley Community College Black Box Theatre this Saturday at 2 p.m.

Experience authentic hula, the beauty of colorful costumes, flowers and leis, Hawaiian music and song. Dancers will present both ancient style kahiko hula accompanied by live chant and rhythm instruments, and contemporary hula to popular Hawaiian music.

The school’s 25 students will be joined by a group of visiting dancers.

Halau Ka Waikahe Lani Malie is one of 14 non-profit and affiliated schools in Hawaii, Japan, Tahiti, New Zealand, Canada and the mainland that perpetuate Hawaiian Culture and Arts and share with our communities. Tickets are $15, or $10 for children and students with ID.
