School-zone road rage leaves woman shaken

Tempers flared among two drivers in a school zone, according to a report from the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office. One called to report a woman driving 55 miles per hour in a school zone and when he caught up to her at a traffic light, he yelled at her to slow down. He said she then made an obscene gesture at him. When a deputy spoke with the woman, she was upset, shaking and had her 6-year-old son in the vehicle. She said she wasn’t speeding, didn’t make a gesture to him and was terrified by the man’s actions.

A person called to report a young man who was threatening to use his guns after he had an argument with his father who refused to buy him marijuana. The person reported the guns were secured. The young man denied making any threats and agreed to grab a couple things and stay at a friend’s house for the night.

Someone called to report the theft of a CB radio, fire extinguisher and a key to a loader from a construction site where her husband works.

A person called about a neighbor’s dogs that had gotten into the chicken coop and killed their chickens in the past. The dogs were out again recently circling the chicken coop. The dog owner then called in reference to the door notice and said she replaced the batteries in the dog’s collars for the underground fencing. She said she also bought bark collars for them. The deputy advised the owner to keep her dogs confined to the property and control the barking during evening hours.

Someone called to report a person harassing one of her employees at work. She wanted to know what could be done.

A person called to request law enforcement check on an autistic child. The person alleged the child’s parents smoke marijuana and have allowed him to smoke, too. The person hasn’t spoken with the family for two years and didn’t know their names.

Someone called to report a dog that had repeatedly come onto the porch and urinated. A notice was posted on the owner’s door.

A woman called to have deputies do something about another woman calling her husband and them going out drinking together. A deputy said they couldn’t stop that from occurring, but if she knew the other woman was drunk to call at the time. The woman was also advised that if the other woman was at her residence without permission and refused to leave, she could call.

A woman called the Kalispell Police Department to report that she learned her son was bullying a girl at school for the last several weeks. She wasn’t sure what to do, but wanted an officer to speak with him about his behavior.

A woman said two junior high students stole her son’s bike.

Someone called to report a man near a warming house up on a hill who had a snow shovel and was digging holes. The man, described as being in his 40s and wearing black pants and a black shirt, also had a rolling suitcase. The man said he was picking up trash.

A person reported a man and a woman who were arguing before he sped off, then returned and parked in front of the house. The man drove a black Dodge diesel pickup and revved the engine repeatedly. An officer advised the man to shut off the diesel truck if he was going to stay.

A man said someone entered his home while he was sleeping on the couch and stole his gun that was next to him.

A woman called to report a female who allegedly slapped a young boy repeatedly. The woman said she had video of the incident and would send it to police. She didn’t know who the person was, but suspected it could be a daycare provider.

Someone called to request help in removing a naked man from a room. His credit card was declined and he refused to leave. Officers did remove him from the property.

A person called to report a stray dog that chased her daughter and also barked and snarled at the child. She wasn’t injured, though.
