Candidate Welzel's statement on IRS tax liens filed against him
I filed a lawsuit against the Internal Revenue Service almost 20 years ago.
That lawsuit was met almost immediately with garnishments, seizures and hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of liens.
That experience convinced me that the legal system would not provide an appropriate redress of grievances for citizens against the Internal Revenue Service.
Despite having withdrawn the case years ago and the fact that the statute of limitations for collecting any penalties the IRS fabricated has long since expired, some of the documents the IRS retaliated with remain on the public record and sometimes re-appear as one did in October when I purchased a property in Kalispell.
I filed a complaint with the U.S. Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration when the bogus lien was recorded by Peg Allison’s office in October.
It’s no surprise there’s no oversight on documents that the IRS submits to counties for recording.
Respectfully,
Robert Welzel
Candidate, House District 7
