Ilene (Hinerman) Hanson, 81

Ilene (Hinerman) Hanson, 81, passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 26, 2018, in Kalispell.

She was born on Nov. 5, 1936, in Glasgow to William and Anne (Garble) Hinerman of Larslon, Montana.

Ilene attended grade school in a one-room schoolhouse in Larslon and completed high school in Nashua, Montana.

She met her loving husband and best friend, Jim Hanson, in 1960 on the shore of Flathead Lake. They married in Idaho in 1962. In 1966, they had a beautiful daughter, La Mona Lee. La Mona settled in the San Diego area and then returned in 2011 to lovingly care for Ilene.

Throughout her life, Ilene was active in many farming activities with her husband, Jim. Together they bought farmland in the KM Ranch community, where they cleared the land and farmed it. Ilene was a leader in 4-H and she loved sports. She played softball, golf and was an avid bowler, winning many trophies. She loved the LA Lakers and was a personal friend of Phil Jackson. She was a hard worker and retired from Wells Fargo after 37 years.

Ilene was preceded in death by her mother and father; sister, Ethel (Hinerman) Maki; and sister-in-law, Peggie Hinerman.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Jim Hanson; daughter, La Mona Hanson; two brothers, William Hinerman, and her twin, Samuel Hinerman; two sisters, Alice and Norma Jean; sister-in-law, Lenore Hinerman; two brothers-in-law, Lloyd Maki and Bruce Grossman; nieces, nephews and many cousins and friends.

She will be forever missed as a loving, caring wife and soul mate, mother, sister and friend. We love you, Mom.

There will be a visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. on June 1 at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home, with a graveside committal service to be held at noon on Saturday, June 2, at Glacier Memorial Gardens in Kalispell.

A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 27, at Stillwater Free Lutheran Church in Kalispell.
