Marilyn Jean (Bair) Jones, 91

Marilyn Jean (Bair) Jones passed away on Sept. 21, 2018.

She was born July 6, 1927, in Mandan, North Dakota, to parents Viola (Picken) and Stark Bair. She spent her early years in the Sarpy Basin. The family including her older sister, Shirley, moved to Hardin where she completed her education.

After graduation from Hardin High School Marilyn spent two years attending the Montana State College School of Nursing.

After graduation she went to work at Billings Deaconess Hospital, followed by years working at Crow Agency and Bighorn County hospitals.

Following hospital nursing, she worked for the Bighorn County public health department and Hardin School System as school nurse.

Marilyn and Clarence S. “Pinky” Jones were married Dec. 12, 1948, in Hardin. Marilyn and Pinky raised three sons Jerry, Lyle and Tom. In 1978 they moved to Bozeman where they owned and operated the Imperial 400 Motel until the mid-‘80s when they retired.

After retirement they moved to Texas, Saint George Utah, and Billings before settling in Kalispell.

Marilyn worked at Kalispell Regional Hospital as a volunteer for several years.

She was preceded in death by her husband Pinky, son Lyle (Kathy), and sister Shirley. Marilyn is survived by her sons Tom (Coleen) and Jerry (Margie) of Kalispell, grandson Cody (Renee), and two great-grandchildren. Additional family includes nieces Fran Gunn of Ballantine, Dayle Perrin of Helena and nephew Stark Ickes of Bighorn.

Marilyn was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Kalispell and enjoyed the social circles with her many friends. A memorial service for Marilyn is set for 1 p.m. Nov. 10 at First Presbyterian Church.
