Protect and serve - and let the dog out

A woman called the Columbia Falls Police from the emergency room to ask if an officer could let her dog out while she was in the hospital if no one in her family could take care of it. The woman said officers knew where her key was hidden.

A man suspected his son of coming over to his house, stealing the battery out of his wife’s car and shutting off all the breakers in his home.

Someone reported a woman for angrily throwing auto parts into a dumpster. When an officer arrived, the woman allegedly became confrontational. She explained that she was throwing out her own “crap” and was dealing with an ex-boyfriend issue. The officer said, “OK” and left.

A man believed someone had rummaged through his car after reportedly finding a pistol holder under it, though nothing had been taken from the vehicle.

A driver called Whitefish Police to report a drunk driver who was allegedly swerving all over the road at speeds of around 80 mph. The driver allegedly had Texas license plates and hit a curb before pulling into a gas station.

A restaurant owner on Reservoir Road reported finding a mother bear and two cubs in the trash cans near his business. When the man tried to shoo the bears away, the mother allegedly reacted aggressively.
