Mary Lana Thompson Wirz passed away on Nov. 3, 2018, at Brendan House in Kalispell.

Mary was born in Hartford, Connecticut, on March 16, 1943, and became a nurse in 1967. For most of her career she worked at Kalispell Regional Medical Center in the Obstetrics Department helping to bring thousands of new lives into the world. Upon retiring in 2002 she continued working at KRMC as a volunteer for 10 years.

Mary was a very kind, compassionate and giving soul. She moved to Montana in 1968 and loved it from the moment she saw the beautiful Flathead Valley. She was an avid animal lover and was “Fur Parent” to numerous pets. She donated to all manner of charities when she was able and would do whatever she could to help those in need.

She is survived by her daughter, Heather Roth; grandchildren, Kaiya and Colton; and sister, Susan Mastrorocco.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 17, at Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, please feel free to donate to a charity of your choice in Mary’s name.
