Bear paws through garbage in Whitefish

A person called the Whitefish Police Department to report hearing something going through the garbage. It was believed to be a bear.

A caller had questions about dogs being leashed on the golf course.

Someone said an unknown man was trying to tow her husband’s vehicle. He was a “repo” man.

Someone reported two men were eating food from a deli and bakery that they didn’t pay for. When they were confronted, one of the men said he’d pay for the food when he was done eating.

An accidental push of an emergency button resulted in a 911 call.

A caller said her neighbor’s dogs charged at her, forcing her to run inside her home. She said it wasn’t the first time it happened.

A drunk man was seen urinating near a school while wandering and staggering all over the place. A Kalispell Police Department officer dropped him off at a motel.

An anonymous caller said a store employee continued to bring her dog to work with her and left it in the vehicle the entire time. She said it was the third time this week that the animal had been left inside the car.

Someone said there was a “creeper” in the neighborhood near the fairgrounds. A check of the area turned up nothing.

A man was admonished for shining a spotlight into other people’s vehicles in a store parking lot.

Someone heard four gunshots, someone yelling and then a vehicle starting up and leaving. A check of the area didn’t turn up anything.

A caller said her neighbor plays loud music and bangs around until she sees the police arrive. The person wanted an officer to come to the apartment to hear all the racket.

A woman called the Columbia Falls Police Department to report someone entered her vehicle and spread a bag of chicken feed all over the interior. In addition, her grandfather’s pocket knife was stolen and she wanted to know if it was among the stolen property from an incident that occurred recently.

“Tater” the pit bull was found to be in good hands after her owner had to go the hospital. Her neighbors were taking care of the dog and she was happy to hear it.
