The pit is located at 3427 Farm to Market Road, Kalispell, MT. Access to the permit area will be directly from the paved approach on Farm to Market Road. Signs will be posted at the pit site. This proposed amendment will allow an increase in acreage to allow the continued mining and processing of materials which will be used for retail aggregate supply and highway projects as needed. The total permitted area will now be 152.8 acres. Only 80 acres will be active at any time. All conditions of the approved Flathead County Conditional Use Permit will be followed. The depth of excavation is estimated to be 35 feet from the existing ground surface level. Approximately 8" of topsoil will be stripped, salvaged and used for final reclamation.
