Jogger takes matters into her hands

A jogger told the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office she was out running when a pair of unfenced Dobermans approached her before she pepper-sprayed them. When the owner heard the dogs barking, he called them back to him. A deputy spoke with the owner of the animals to inform her about animal ordinances.

A caller said she could see smoke seeping out of the windows and from the chimney, too. When it was checked, it turned out to be steam coming out of the dryer vent.

A call about a woman with a 6-shooter revolver in her pocket who had took off with six children in the vehicle turned out to be a lack of communication between a married couple.

Someone said there were several teenagers standing on the corner screaming at each other.

A man called to give an officer information about a possible suspect who may have stolen his chain saw.

A driver called the Columbia Falls Police Department about an odd encounter she had at the intersection of 11th Street and 16th Avenue. She said she was driving through town on her way home when she encountered a man in a pickup parked at the intersection. She said he stayed there for about five minutes before he got out and waved at her as she drove past. Then, he got back in the truck and followed her.

A man in a camper was told he had to be moving along and he assured an officer that he would leave in the morning.

An officer spoke to a person to let him know his vehicle doors were open.

A man called to say he was going to his sister’s house.
