A sweet tooth leads to shoplifting

According to the Kalispell Police Department, an unfulfilled hunger for chocolate led to a shoplifting incident involving a man and a woman.

A caller reported that someone stole his dog while he was in the bathroom. He said he heard a knock at the door, the white and black French bulldog barked and the front door closed. When he came out, the dog was gone and he saw a light-colored passenger car leaving the residence.

One woman’s rush to work left her confused as to whether her home had been broken into by an unknown person. When an officer spoke to her, she said she wasn’t sure if she had shut her front door all the way.

A man with a felony warrant for his arrest was taken into custody after a caller reported seeing the accused buy drugs from another person. When an officer arrived he saw the man sitting in a car with a glass pipe in his possession.

A caller who reported a possible attempted car theft with a coat hanger didn’t realize a man had locked his keys in his vehicle.

A woman who was arguing with a man jumped out of the moving car they were in before it stopped. She reported that she didn’t suffer any injuries.

An abnormal amount of smoke coming from the chimney was a cause for alarm, but it turned out to be a wood stove that was operating in a safe manner.

A vehicle owner was cited for parking in a spot for disabled persons without a permit.

The driver of a Toyota 4-Runner reported hitting two deer as they ran across the road. One had to be dispatched.

A woman said a man had threatened her husband and had entered her place of employment looking for her. She said when he came in the week before he was acting very strange.

Someone called the Columbia Falls Police Department to report a protester on school property. She was moved across the street to public property.

The manager of an apartment complex reported that someone stole $540 from his apartment. He was going to check security camera footage to determine who may be the culprit.

A father showed up at his 16-year-old daughter’s cheerleading practice at the school because he was upset his ex-wife had given the girl a cell phone. The father reportedly caused a scene, but the daughter wouldn’t give up the phone.

A man reported he had been cheated by a medical company.

A couple were heard engaging in a loud argument. The man was heard saying “I’m (expletive) done with you and your (expletive) kids.”
