Republicans where are you?
Regarding the appointment of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court, Republicans where are you?
The Senate Judiciary Committee, dominated by Republicans and supported by Trump, agreed to an investigation by the FBI of the allegations about Kavanaugh. The FBI was limited by the White House and Chairman Grassley to interview only witnesses of their choosing and ask questions that favor Kavanaugh. Ultimately the FBI report was submitted to the committee for their reading.
The Republicans, after a closed late night meeting said they found nothing to disqualify Kavanaugh. My question is, why are the citizens not given access to the FBI report? Secrecy and deception appear to be the norm for the Republican members of the committee. I would say to the committee, entire Senate and all that watched the interview, let’s focus on Kavanaugh’s demeanor during the interview rather than his sexual behavior and drinking habits. An appointment to the Supreme Court is a lifetime appointment and with it comes all of the perks the government can award.
A strong and non-partisan court is vital to the freedom we enjoy as a democracy. A Supreme Court Justice must be held to the highest standard of impartiality, non-partisanship and demeanor. Kavanaugh has shown, very clearly, by his weeping, outbursts, failure to tell the truth, and rudeness to committee members during questioning that he does not have the temperament to be a Justice on the Supreme Court.
It is obvious that the all male Republican committee members on the Judiciary Committee display allegiance to the party and Trump rather to the citizens of the United States of America. Surely there are other exceptional individuals in this great land that would fulfill all of the necessary traits and leadership to be a Supreme Court Justice.
