Bravettes host Bengals in Western AA soccer playoffs

The Flathead girls are home while the Flathead and Glacier boys both travel for Class AA Western Division soccer playoff action today.

Today’s winners advance to state tournament play Oct. 25-27 in Helena.

The Flathead girls, seeded fourth, host fifth-seed Helena High at Kidsports Complex.

The Flathead boys, seeded fifth, are at fourth-seed Helena Capital.

And the Glacier boys, the sixth seed, play at third seed Missoula Sentinel.

All three matches begin at noon.

The Glacier boys advanced with a 7-0 play-in match victory over Missoula Big Sky on Tuesday at Glacier.

The Glacier girls dropped their play-in match on Tuesday at Helena Capital 4-0.

In the other Western AA girls matchup, third-seed Missoula Sentinel hosts sixth-seed Helena Capital today at 2:30 p.m.

The top two teams — boys: Missoula Hellgate and Helena High; girls: Missoula Big Sky and Missoula Hellgate — earned automatic byes to state from Western AA.

The Bravettes lost to Helena High 2-1 on Sept. 7 in Helena, but won by the same score at Kidsports Complex on Oct. 6

The Braves were 3-1 losers at Helena Capital on Sept. 8 and lost 4-1 at Kidsports Complex on Oct. 6.

Sentinel won both of its regular-season meetings with Glacier, 2-0 and 5-1.
