Whitefish kicks off football playoffs
Bulldogs travel to Dillon Friday; Northwest A champ Columbia Falls has first-round bye

High school football playoff action begins Friday night with three games, while the remainder of first-round action for Class A, B and C is scheduled for Saturday afternoon.
Up first are two evening tests in Class A — Whitefish (5-4) at Dillon (6-2) and Corvallis (5-4) at Frenchtown (7-2) — and one in Class C 6 man — Bridger (8-2) versus Richey-Lambert (7-2) in Lambert. All three games begin at 7 p.m.
Northwest A champion Columbia Falls (7-1) has a first-round bye. The Wildcats will host the Saturday winner of Sidney at Lewiston on Nov. 3 in quarterfinal play.
Columbia Falls defeated Hamilton 26-14 in last year’s Class A championship game.
In Class B, Bigfork (7-1) is home versus Townsend (5-3) while Eureka (6-2) travels to Manhattan (5-3).
Eureka defeated Shelby 47-7 in the 2017 Class B championship game.
The regular-season in Class AA ends this week with playoff action beginning. No. 2. Flathead (7-2) has qualified for the postseason while Glacier (4-5) still has a chance to advance.
Flathead hosts Helena High (7-2) on Friday while Glacier plays at Missoula Hellgate (2-7) on Thursday.
