LIBBY — Libby stayed perfect on the volleyball season Tuesday evening by whipping Troy 25-7, 25-7, 25-6 in a nonconference contest.

Libby dominated net play, leading 34-5 in kills and 4-0 in blocks.

Mehki Sykes had 10 kills for Libby and Jessica Jones nine.

Ella Pierce and Kate Tallmadge had two kills each for Troy.

“I was very pleased the girls maintained their focus throughout the match,” Libby coach Cindy Ostrem-Johnston said.

“And, our serving was pretty exceptional tonight. We served aggressively and only had three serving errors.”

Libby (7-0 overall, 5-0 league) hosts Ronan in a Northwest A Conference test on Saturday.

Columbia Falls JV 0

Stillwater Christian School defeated the visiting Columbia Falls JV 25-17, 25-10, 25-22 with Sydney McKerrow enjoying a big night at the serving line with seven of the Cougars’ 14 aces.

Abby Hudson, six kills, and Helen Hashley, eight blocks, were forces up front for Stillwater.

“Senior Helen Hashley put up a great wall at the net tonight,” Stillwater coach Diane Smith said.

“Juniors Abby Hudson and Sydney McKerrow stacked up the points with some strong serving and finding the floor to finish.”

Stillwater had 21 kills total and 14 blocks.

McKerrow also led in digs with five. The team had 19.

Ramey Metzger had 18 of Stillwater’s 21 assists.

No stats were available for Columbia Falls.

Stillwater improved to 7-3 overall with the nonconference win.

Stillwater hosts Flathead Valley Homeschool on Friday at 7:15 p.m. in a Montana Christian Athletic Association West Division matchup. The Cougars are 4-0 in league play.

On Monday Stillwater beat the Flathead JV 25-17, 25-19, 25-20 at Flathead.

“Junior libero Sydney McKerrow had a great match serving 91 percent,” Smith said.

“I was proud of the girls pushing hard to the end after we hit the 20s.”

McKerrow had five of the team’s 13 aces, Hashley had nine of the 21 kills recorded by Stillwater, Cora Boll finished with five digs, the team total was 13, Metzger had 17 of the 22 assists and Hashley had six of the eight blocks.
