Trinity Lutheran School announces science fair winners

Trinity Lutheran School students recently participated in both the Regional Science Fair in Butte and the Montana State Science Fair in Missoula.

Trinity seventh-grade students Rylee Glimm and Katy Bitney were awarded the silver at the state event for their work on “Piano Pizzazz,” documenting if decibel level and sound waves are affected by a piano’s pedal. At the regional level, they were awarded bronze division first place.

Another Trinity seventh-grade student, Renee Brousseau, also received a silver award at state for her project, “Let’s Survive a 6.5,” testing the structural integrity of particular shaped buildings, should an earthquake occur. Brousseau also received second place at regional competition.

The final pairing of students from Trinity Lutheran School who participated in the regional science fair were Belle Schwartz and Laynee Vessar, who tested the water quality and total dissolved solids around the Flathead Valley. They worked on a project titled, “Does Clearer Mean Purer?” and received bronze division first place in Butte.
