Delbert Ray Ferree, 69

Delbert Ray Ferree, 69, passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2019, at HealthCenter Northwest in Kalispell.

Delbert was born on Aug. 9, 1949, in Kalispell to Virgil and Lyra (Hardt) Ferree. Delbert attended school in Kalispell and graduated from Flathead High School in 1968, and went on to get his Associate of Science degree from Orange Coast College in California.

Delbert enlisted in the Army in 1968, during the Vietnam era, and was honorably discharged in 1971.

He married Colleen (Collier) in 1987 in Las Vegas. They celebrated 31-plus years together. Delbert worked as an electronics technician from 1980 through 1994. He then became a transportation specialist from 1995 to 2016 until his retirement.

Delbert loved doing yard work and cooking.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his loving wife Colleen, stepchildren Craig Hansen and wife Mary of Rapid City, South Dakota, Heidi Antonini and husband Tony of Kalispell; siblings Virginia Wordell of Spokane and Janice Frysinger of Spirit Lake, Idaho, stepsister Sandra Lindlief; seven stepgrandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family ask that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society for leukemia and lymphoma.

A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 14, at the Village Green Community Center at 195 West Nicklaus, Kalispell.
