Playing musical chairs with trespass law

Someone on Spokane Avenue in Whitefish reported protesters were allegedly trespassing on private property. By the time Whitefish Police Department arrived, four individuals were standing on a sidewalk, but a chair was still trespassing. Protesters were advised of private property laws and asked to move the chair. The chair was moved, however, the reporting party called back when the chair supposedly made its way back onto private property.

A woman reportedly drove her vehicle to municipal court to appear on a driving while suspended charge — while she was suspended. She was placed under arrest, booked, processed and cited. She posted bond and was released.

A BMX bicycle and specialized bicycle were reported stolen on Kalispell Avenue.

A Second Street resident told police someone went into their garage and took apart their mountain bike hauler.

Someone on 12th Street called Columbia Falls Police Department to report receiving a strange phone call where someone claiming to be with the IRS, who said a vehicle with blood in it was found in Texas and traced back to them, so they needed their credit card information.

Curiosities continued to unfold when passersby happened upon purses reportedly strewn all over First Street from Nucleus Avenue to Fourth Avenue. Police picked up the handbag collection that appeared to have come from a donation bin and didn’t contain personal belongings. Maybe the purses were discarded because their styles were “so last year.”

Someone on Talbot Road claimed his son’s braces were messed up after he was assaulted in school.

A parent on 13th Street reportedly was concerned with the decisions a child was making and sought help from law enforcement. Police sat down with the child, parent and a school counselor to discuss ways to resolve issues.

A man purportedly rocking a fedora and suspenders was seen dancing around and talking to himself, but someone didn’t find the act amusing because he was near “two young girls” working at a business and thought he appeared to be a transient on drugs and reported it to Kalispell Police Department.

A woman said she pulled into a parking lot on Third Avenue East North when a man inside a vehicle with the window rolled down allegedly said “Excuse me can you help me with this,” and exposed his genitals.

Medical personnel was requested after a man reportedly threw a table and plants around an apartment and pushed a pregnant woman.

A car alarm allegedly goes off at least twice a week around 3 a.m. without missing a beat.

Methamphetamine was believed to have been found in a diaper bag and a child was removed from parents who allegedly tested positive for the drug.

Someone claimed they saw a small child in the front passenger seat without a car seat.

Someone called 911 to say a vehicle containing four men had circled a block, making “gang signs,” and was heading eastbound toward Main Street. The call was disconnected, though, and the caller did not answer on a dispatcher’s attempt to call back.

Loud music and drunken revelry was anonymously reported in an apartment building.
